You've done all the hard work of earning your JMU diploma - now it is time to show how far you've come! This last spring at JMU goes so quickly and I want to make sure you have lasting memories of your final weeks on campus.
I'm Hannah, a Harrisonburg-based photographer who has spent over a decade documenting moments that matter. As a proud JMU alum (married to another proud JMU alum), some of my favorite photography moments come in celebrating other Dukes.
Whether you want something polished for LinkedIn, something warm and cheerful to frame for your mom, or just an hour on campus to celebrate yourself, I am your girl!
Hey y'all! I am Hannah, a 2017 JMU alum and a proud Harrisonburg resident. After moving away for a brief stint, the call of the Valley was too strong to ignore and we found ourselves back in 2023. I live with my husband, Anthony - a proud Double Duke and current academic advisor in the JMU College of Business. Together, we have a sweet toddler who will (hopefully) be a future third-generation Duke!
Anthony and I have been photographing weddings and portrait sessions for a decade now and bring that wealth of expertise to these sessions. We are super familiar with JMU's campus and know where to find all the best pockets of light. We can't wait to celebrate with you - a soon-to-be alum!
Absolutely! We are happy to add in your mom, dad, partner, best friend or roommate for a couple photos. If you want to book a group session for you and some of your graduating friends, we are happy to do that as well. Groups of 3 or more graduates are priced at $195 per person, and the session might run a bit longer than an hour. We can usually get a great mix of solo shots and group shots in an hour and a half!
I personally like to start all of my sessions on the Quad since it has the best opportunity for that classic JMU look. We usually meet by Wilson Hall and make a gameplay based on what is most important to you. We can get photos with the James Madison statue, then some fun ones on the Quad with Wilson Hall in the background, then head over to the fountain. I have a few favorite spots that have the BEST light, so we will stop at those spots on our way to the iconic pillars of Madison Hall (across from SSC). If you want a photo at your school/main academic building, just let me know and we can build that into the timeline.
At a minimum, I tell my grads bring their full regalia and some comfy shoes for walking to the different photo spots. You are also welcome to bring a second outfit, props (like a stethoscope, construction hard hat, etc.), champagne and confetti (biodegradable, please).
Spring weather in Harrisonburg is…unpredictable to say the least. I am obsessive about checking the weather to make sure we have the best possible scenario for photos. For evening sessions, I will typically make a call my noon about whether or not we need to reschedule due to wind, rain, or storms. I keep a few dates unbooked to offer as make up sessions, so rescheduling should be a breeze.
At this time, I do not. I have found that 60ish minutes is the perfect amount of time to get the photos we need while walking around the Quad and main campus area. Any less time would leave us rushing - and I don’t want to do that to you!
I typically send a sneak peek within 72 hours of our session with the full gallery being ready 2 weeks after your session date. All photos are uploaded into an online gallery and available for digital download. You have the option to purchase professional prints through the gallery, but you will also have a print release and the ability to print anywhere you’d like.
Absolutely! Just send me an email when you inquire and I am happy to send you a full gallery.
Amazing! Use the button below to inquire and I will get back to you within 24 hours to send you my availability and next steps. I require a 50% retainer to hold your date with the remainder being due the day of your session. You can pay via card, Venmo or PayPal.
