If you know me, you know that I have been waiting for a UVA wedding inquiry to come across my inbox. I absolutely adore the UVA Chapel and think photos on the Lawn are so classic and fun! The classic UVA wedding paired with a modern reception at the Bradbury was one for the ages.
Pre-Ceremony
This fall, Kate and Andrew celebrated 10 years together by getting married in a very classic Charlottesville affair. Kate and her closest people got ready at the Graduate in downtown Charlottesville. They have a cute getting ready room with lots of mirrors and lights. I started my day there and made quick work of Kate and Andrew’s details. I am loving getting more “details in action” these days – but flat lays will always have my heart! Anthony headed over to the guys’ AirBnB just a block off the downtown pedestrian mall. Andrew and his guys were playing ping pong and drinking bourbon – a perfect getting ready combination! We headed to the Rotunda to take photos before the ceremony. It was stressful because we had to keep Kate and Andrew separate – they didn’t want to see each other until the ceremony.

UVA Wedding Ceremony + Portraits
The ceremony was a stunning celebration of love in one of central Virginia’s oldest chapels. The UVA Chapel is truly stunning, and I was giddy to be there!
After a meaningful Catholic ceremony in front of their closest family and friends, it was time for photos. We started with family portraits, then wedding party portraits, then portraits of the newlyweds. The Lawn and Rotuna has so many great spots for photos, so we tried to hit all the highlights.
After UVA portraits were done, we headed to the Downtown Mall for some urban portraits before heading into cocktail hour. Fun fact – I had to photoshop the couple’s name onto the Paramount sign, because the sign unfortunately had the wrong names. I am very proud of that accomplishment!

Reception at the Bradbury
After portraits, it was time for the reception. Kate and Andrew chose the Bradbury because of it’s clean lines, fun architecture and modern feel. It is a newer venue, with plenty of space for dining, dancing and drinks. Enjoy some of my favorite cocktail hour and reception photos!
