When I first met Natalie and Blaise, they told me about their vision for a modern, joyful Downtown DC engagement session. They are planning a gorgeous spring ceremony at the Dupont Circle Hotel complete with lots of unique, personal touches. With that spirit in mind, we chose to take their engagement portraits at two modern, DC locations: the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery and the Kennedy Center. We chose a Saturday evening in late June and the museum was surprisingly empty! We started on the top floor of the National Portrait Gallery and worked our way down to the courtyard. Some of our favorite spots were hidden in little nooks and crannies. There are so many rooms to explore!
From there, we travelled to the Kennedy Center across town. The couple changed outfits and we were off! We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather and beautiful sunset light. The large, marble walls of the building served as a great, minimalist backdrop. We played a bit with direct light and the lines of the REACH Center. They were even up for a bit of movement and running! We cannot wait for their wedding with ALLORE Events next spring!
