Grant and Sara celebrated with friends and family during their Poplar Springs Manor wedding last spring. We photographed Sara’s sister’s wedding the previous summer and it was so great to be back with their family!
PRE-CEREMONY
We started the day, as usual, with details and candids of the girls getting ready. Their florist, Lal Moya, created beautiful boutonnieres that we were able to incorporate into the detail shots. Once we were done with details, Sara was just wrapping up her hair and makeup. Before she stepped into the dress, the girls stopped to make a couple Tik Toks – just another part of weddings these days! Anthony went to hang out with the guys while I stayed back with the girls to get those final “getting ready” shots. Thankfully, the weather was cooperating and Anthony was able to take the guys outside for photos.
CEREMONY
Shortly after, though, the venue decided it was too windy for the ceremony to take place outside. While I could tell Sara was disappointed, she was so gracious and kind with the change. The venue and floral teams spring into action, moving chairs inside and redoing the floral arrangement. The end result was stunning! The ceremony went off without a hitch, and it was such a special one. Grant and Sara’s moms played a special role, which was really touching. Once the ceremony was over, we took tons of family photos, photos with the wedding party and finally, newlywed photos.
RECEPTION
We joined cocktail hour for a bit, then it was time for the reception! After the wedding party was introduced and entered into the reception, Sara’s dad offered a welcome toast and blessing. The guests enjoyed wonderful food. After dinner, we snuck out for some sunset portraits before hearing toasts by the best men and maid/matron of honor. Dancing begun, which was only interrupted by the bouquet and garter toss. At the end of the night, the newlyweds enjoyed a last dance before a sparkler exit. Congrats to Grant and Sara – we were so grateful to be part of your Poplar Springs Manor wedding!
